Safety Precautions

  • Make sure that everyone working with Nex-Pand understands the possibility of “blowouts” and that they have read the technical instructions thoroughly. NB! Avoid looking down at the holes you have recently poured for at least 0 – 3 hrs.
  • Keep people away from the job site after you have poured – suggestion: use barrier tape.
  • If you see the filled holes are starting to steam that means they could “blow out”. Stand clear from these holes.
  • Nex-Pand has a high PH level and after contact with water reaches a PH of 13 which could cause severe irritation to mucous membranes, especially the eyes. If this happens, Nex-Pand must be rinsed off with cold water and a doctor consulted immediately.
  • Rubber gloves and goggles must be worn at all times when using Nex-Pand.
  • Dust masks are recommended if the product is used in poorly ventilated areas.
  • Take care that there might be pieces of rock or concrete falling while the chemical is working.
  • ALWAYS use COLD water to mix with the Nex-Pand, hot or warm water speeds up the reaction time which could be very dangerous.
